‘BATTLE CRY’
SU CD, DVD e BLU-RAY
130 concerti, 33 paesi visitati e una scaletta che includeva molti brani tratti dai loro album più classici, questo è stato il tour dei Judas Priest, a supporto del 17° album di inediti ‘Redeemer Of Souls’ del 2014, uno dei più lunghi e completi dell’intera carriera della band.
Ora i fan dei padri dell’heavy metal possono rivivere l’esperienza del live attraverso ‘Battle Cry’, il nuovo CD, DVD e Blu-Ray, in uscita il 25 marzo 2016. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hZH9ptg58ck).
Il live di ‘Battle Cry’ è stato registrato il 1° agosto 2015 al Festival di Wacken in Germania, di fronte a 85.000 fan e ora è disponibile su CD (contenente 15 brani), su DVD e Blu-ray (oltre 94 minuti) e in versione digitale. Il DVD e il Blu-ray contengono inoltre 3 bonus track, registrate il 10 dicembre 2015 alla The Ergo Arena di Gdansk in Polonia.
La cosa che rende speciale la tracklist di questo concerto è il mix tra i nuovi classici (‘Dragonaut’, ‘Halls of Valhalla’, ‘Redeemer of Souls’), i brani storici (‘Metal Gods’, ‘Electric Eye’, ‘You’ve Got Another Thing Coming’) e le canzoni del periodo fine anni 70 e primi anni 80 (‘Devil’s Child’, ‘Beyond the Realms of Death’, ‘Jawbreaker’).
I Judas Priest si formarono originariamente nei primi anni 70 a Birmingham ed esplosero sulla scena musicale nel 1974 con Rocka Rolla. Rob Halford, Glenn Tipton, Richie Faulkner, Ian Hill, Scott Travis hanno realizzato alcuni dei migliori album heavy metal di tutti i tempi (nel 1980 ‘British Steel’, nel 1982 ‘Screaming for Vengeance’, e 1990 ‘Painkiller’) e sono riusciti a promuovere questo genere musicali anche in situazioni diverse (Live Aid nel 1985 oltre ad un’apparizione a sorpresa in American Idol nel 2011).
I Judas Priest sono stati i primi a lanciare il tipico look metal a base di pelle e borchie. Per 40 anni sono stati una delle più grandi live band del metal e in ‘Battle Cry’ continuano a picchiare ancora più duramente.
